Interfaith Hospitality Network of Little Rock
A Helping Hand for Homeless Families

Floyd, Isaiah, and Malik

In late June or early July I was in a situation that I never thought would happen to me. My wife and I could not get a long and I had to be the one to leave with my two sons Malik and Isaiah. I thought my world had come to an end; me and my boys were homeless.

I started looking in the phonebook under shelters and the first one I came to was Interfaith, and that name just agreed with my spirit. So I called the network and it was the beginning of many blessings that was to come my way. When I talked to Miss Janet I explained what had happened and she opened the doors of Interfaith to me and the boys. It seemed like from that point on the blessings started to fall out of the sky.

We had shelter, transportation, spiritual guidance, food, and whatever else we needed. Not only that, the churches we stayed at were awesome. The people, food, and activities were great. Every church made us feel at home and a part of their church family. There was always someone to talk to when I needed it, and always someone to pray for me when I asked.

Interfaith, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I thank God for creating a program like this. I love each and everyone of you.

I'm forever grateful.

A Saturday outing to experience "Walking with Dinosuars!"

Getting ready to see the dinosaurs.

We're off to see Dinosaurs Live!

This dinosaur is pretty friendly!

Okay, maybe we can't take him home with us!

It really was a fun day.

ME

Increasing from an infant as I take

My next breath decreasing my

Knowledge as I head down the steps

Blaming my mother for the way

I am but blame myself for the

Way I stay

15 years of age and I’m 5 foot 6

With the heart of a giant and

A mighty strong spirit

I myself an African American

And in my mind when I say

I can believe me I can

I know right from wrong and

Left from right, up from down

And dark from light

I’m not a gangsta

Stranger or a G in my mind

I AM ME!!!!
